Valparaíso Open Language and Culture Program @PUCV

In the spirit of our initiative PUCV +Internacional, Activando Ideas organized under the aegis of PUCV’s Vice Rectory of Development, our International Relations Office is glad to announce the Valparaíso Open Language and Culture Program (OL&CP) @PUCV.

Our Valparaíso OL&CP @PUCV is an opportunity to take advantage of our International Program long standing reputation of teaching Spanish as a foreign language. This program is an open initiative for non-native Spanish speakers in Chile and abroad. Each course offered will be worth credit and it will have no related cost. Apply here

Important dates:

  • Application period: July 31st – August 12th 
  • Beginning of classes: August 17th 
  • Class end date of 45 hour courses: November 3rd
  • Class end date of 60 hour courses: November 26th

Program details: 

The program will offer 8 courses total each with a determined number of credits that you will be able to transfer to your home university (if applicable). 

Please, consider the following information: 

  • Courses per person: 1 
  • Spots per person: 20 
  • Course Modality: ON-LINE

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 03:40 to 05:10 pm.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thurdays 05:20 to 06:50 pm.

Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays  03:40 to 05:10 pm.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:45 am to 01:15 pm.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thurdays 02:00 to 03:30 pm.

Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays 02:00 to 03:30 pm.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 03:40 to 05:10 pm.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thurdays 07:00 to 08:30 pm.

 

Program policy:

  1. 80% of attendance as minimum is required to pass the course.
  2. The application period goes from July 31st to August 12th. If the course you want to take is full, then you will be placed in a waiting list, and availability will be informed the second week of classes. 
  3. There will be a period to change the level of a course or to drop a course. This will go from August 17th to 21st. 
  4. You will be able to change the level of a course as long as the desired course has available spots. 
  5. If you need us to issue a transcript for your home university at the end of the program, please let your PUCV advisor know. 

Registration: 

IMPORTANT: All students are required to register a gmail account in the application system as all classes will be given through the Google Meet platform. 

When applying you must upload the following documents: 

  • Copy of your passport (we need this for issue your acceptance letter, your transcript of records and for administrative purposes overall)
  • Picture 
  • The course you want to take and it’s schedule
