A forest fire was raging out of control since Friday evening in the higher hills of Valparaiso and Viña del Mar.

Chilean Emergency Service, ONEMI, has said that, as a precaution, between 4.000 and 6.000 people are being evacuated from risky areas and a state of emergency had been declared.

Even though the fire is not under control and the damages can´t be determined yet, the population is safe and has been said to follow the authorities instructions in order to stay out of risk.

Un incendio forestal está afectando desde el viernes por la tarde a las partes altas de Valparaíso y Viña del Mar.

Servicio de Emergencia de Chile, ONEMI, ha dicho que, como medida de precaución, entre 4.000 y 6.000 personas están siendo evacuadas de zonas de riesgo y el Estado de Emergencia ha sido declarado.

A pesar de que el fuego no está bajo control y los daños no pueden ser determinados aún, la población está segura y se le ha instruido a seguir las instrucciones de las autoridades con el fin de mantenerse fuera de riesgo.
